Arlington, Tennessee is part of Shelby County and had an estimated 11,680 population as of the 2012 census. It is considered one of the fastest growing communities in Tennessee. Arlington was incorporated in 1878 and was originally called Haysville. The town was renamed to Arlington in 1883. Even though the town has grown gradually throughout its existence, it largely continues to have a small town feel that appeals to residents and visitors alike. Public education facilities serving Arlington are located in the Arlington Community School District. There are schools within the town itself and cover all grade levels from elementary to middle to high school. The school district generally gets top marks from both residents and education professionals.


Along with schools, Arlington has a great Parks and Recreation department with eight parks that include such amenities as playgrounds, sports fields, picnic areas and walking areas. The Town of Arlington also offers an exceptional list of Youth Sport Leagues through out the year.
